Recently, there has been an increase of accidents involving long haul trucks throughout the Chicagoland and Illinois area, resulting in an increase in truck accident investigation. Trucks play an important role in the US economy, responsible for transporting goods over long distances for a reasonable price. But, because of the large size and difficulty to maneuver, trucks get into many accidents. On top of this, truck drivers often are fatigued due to long work hours and are likely to get into an accident. Since 2010, there has been a steady increase of truck accidents on the road. RGH Investigations have noticed this trend as well, as we are getting more requests for truck accident investigation.
Truck Driving and Immigration
Truck driving is also a good profession for new immigrants. Nowadays, it’s reasonably easy to rent a truck and start taking shipments. There are also many small US companies that recruit drivers from other countries. Many of these immigrants are on the path of getting their legal paperwork, or are undocumented. Currently, the majority of truck drivers come from Mexico/Central America, Russia, and Africa. Though hiring immigrants to fulfill the lack of American truck drivers seems great, immigrants don’t know the rules of the road in America. This is one of the reasons why we see an uptick of truck accidents.
Surveying The Trucker
RGH Investigations investigated a case about a truck driver who recently hit a car with 5 passengers. Unfortunately, 4 of them passed away due to the accident. We had to find and serve the driver with paperwork to attend court. The case started with the name, possible social security number, and phone number of the truck owner. The owner was not the driver of the truck during the fatal accident. The owner would rent out the truck to different drivers to do jobs. We narrowed our investigation down to 3 possible drivers in 3 different locations: California, Illinois, and New York. The owner of the truck had a picture of the driver. We scoped out Illinois and found no one that matched the photo of the driver. We then traveled to a suspected New York address. RGH Investigators posed as delivery drivers and knocked on the door. No one answered. Later during surveillance, we saw a man coming to the door of the apartment. We took photos of him with a covert camera. The photos matched the man we were looking for. At last, we had our guy.
RGH Investigations Can Help You with Your Truck Accident Investigation
The driver was a Russian national, and he was not documented in the USA. He had no credit score or legal identification. This made it very difficult for RGH Investigators to find the driver. RGH Investigators served the driver at the New York apartment one week later. RGH Investigators are experienced with tracking down and surveying anyone from any country. We are licensed in multiple states, and can track down a moving suspect. Our advanced methods of surveillance will help you find the suspect.
